Disneybounding for Toy Story Land!

Hello all! This weekend I was very lucky to attend a preview of the new Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! I dressed for the occasion with a Woody Disneybound and before we get into that, I would like to address something. When I left my place, I looked like this:

The very second we walked into the land, it started pouring rain. My immediate thought was that if it started lightning out they would shut down Slinky Dog Dash (an outdoor coaster) and WHO KNOWS when it would be up again? So naturally I ran there and rode it in the pouring rain. All before I could take some good pics of this outfit. Which brings me to my main point: this is a very very VERY soggy outfit post. My makeup and hair are trashed and my clothes are weirdly wrinkled and still wet. Despite that, I had a great time and was pretty proud of this outfit, so I documented it anyway! True to form, I never let the rain stop me.

The Shirt

Just a basic, slightly dressy, basic tee. This was thrifted.

The Jeans

High rise skinnies from American Eagle. I swear by their pants.

The Accessories

My bandana was a whopping 1 dollar at Wal-Mart. You can’t beat it really. My pin came from the legendary Hard Rock Park (yes they had a theme park, that sadly remained open for less than a year), and was the only Sheriff pin I could find in my closet, so I took it.

Bag and Shoes

These were so fun to bring out after such a long time. The bag came from the Mexico Pavilion at EPCOT and the cowboy boots were a hand me down from my mother.

Toy Story Land!

Here’s a little mini-review for ya! We weren’t able to experience the merchandising or the quick service restaurant, but what I did see was amazing. As always, Disney’s theming is incredible. The idea is that you’re in Andy’s back yard, and everything, down to the foliage itself (which simulated the grass, overgrown in spots), immersed you in that idea. Slinky Dog Dash is a really fun little coaster, with a great view of the entire land. I rode it twice, once in the rain, and once not in the rain. (I definitely saw more without the rain constantly in my eyes, go figure.) We rode the Alien Swirling Saucers a lot, and it’s probably one of my fav new rides. The aliens are my favorite Toy Story characters and that excellent theming (that matched flawlessly with the visuals of the Buzz Lightyear ride at the Magic Kingdom!!) paired with the ride track from Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at DCA had me laughing constantly. To sum it all up for you, this land is great. Go visit when it’s open at the end of this month!

Bye y’all!
